Is there a provision for badminton court?

    Akhila asked 3 months ago

Thank you for your question. The proposed Sports Fields and Courts Provision Strategy includes plans for various types of sports facilities to meet the community's needs, including badminton. Data and stakeholder engagement showed the need to enhance gymnasiums to support sessional adaption and enhanced multi-purpose use which would support indoor badminton drop-in opportunities as well as facilities for community badminton organizations.

Thank you for your question. The proposed Sports Fields and Courts Provision Strategy considers the inclusion of all sports amenities, such as badminton, based on community feedback and demand. One of the key recommendations of the proposed Strategy is to enhance gymnasiums to support sessional adaption and multi-purpose use which would support a growing interest in badminton. We will continue to engage the community, evaluate, and prioritize these needs during the Strategy implementation phase to ensure we continue to create an inclusive sports community.

It’s a huge unmet need and I’m sure we’re not the only family who would love to see this sooner rather than later. Thank you! on Facebook Share Sorry I missed the survey. Thank you for your question. In 2024, City Council unanimously supported the proposal of a new indoor sports facility in Brantford. The city is currently reviewing funding opportunities to help support the cost. Once funding is determined, the city will engage with the community and its user groups to help inform the design and amenities for the new facility.
