Consultation has concluded
The City of Brantford is conducting a Trail Safety Audit across the Brantford Trail Network to identify trail safety concerns, uncover areas where wayfinding or other amenities may be needed, and to ensure we are meeting all current Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards. The Audit will also include an analysis of the trails through the lens of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) standards. Enhancing the safety, accessibility and reliability of the Brantford Trail System is being done with the intention of increasing the use of active transportation throughout the community.
Active transportation is any form of people-powered transportation like walking, cycling, skateboarding, rollerblading, and wheelchair use. This can include walking to a bus stop or cycling to work or school.
The City is working to make travel by active modes the preferred choice for residents, especially for trips within 5 km. If more people choose people-powered transportation over driving, we can help ease congestion on city streets, create a cleaner environment, and support a healthier community.

We want to know what areas of the City's Trails you think could be improved. Is there a spot where the trail is too narrow? A pothole that gives you pause? A soft surface that makes traveling difficult? We want to hear about it! Please use the mapping tool below to tell us about the locations on the trails where safety enhancements will benefit users today and in the future.
