The City of Brantford operates several sport and recreational facilities including arenas, ball diamonds, fields, pools, gymnasiums and courts. These spaces serve as home to community clubs, minor sports associations, recreational leagues, private teams and the broader community. They are also public assets and costly to construct, maintain and operate. It is important that the City of Brantford implements appropriate procedures to ensure these assets are optimally used to benefit the community, and that they are made available in the most fair and transparent manner possible.

That's why we need your help to inform the development of a draft Parks and Recreation Allocation Policy and formal framework to guide us in the allocation of City-owned facilities. Driven by a detailed framework of standards and principles, the objective of an Allocation Policy will be to ensure a fair and equitable approach to the allocation of spaces and effective management of conflicts if more than one user group requests the same facility at the same date and time.

We Want to Hear From You

We want to hear from residents and sports groups to ensure the new Allocation Policy captures the priorities, standards, and principles that will promote optimal use of these facilities to benefit current users, prospective users, and the community at large.
