Payday loan establishments are any premises or any part of the premises that operates as a payday lending business as defined by the Payday Loans Act. This Act requires that local payday loan establishments be licensed provincially and by the City of Brantford.

Recognizing that for some, these establishments are the only option, Brantford City Council is currently considering how to balance consumer demands for this service with protecting the public from potential predatory practices. Specifically, Council is currently considering increasing the current cap of 9 establishments of this nature in the city to 10. Please help inform Council's discussion on this subject by taking our quick survey below to tell us what you think.
