Consultation has concluded

Hey kids! Do you love art and want to show off your creativity? In celebration of National Public Works Week (May 21 to 27, 2023), we're looking for photos of original artwork that showcases what Public Works means to you or how Public Works connects the world. A special winner will receive a VIP, behind-the-scenes tour of our Wheels on the Pavement event to be held on Sunday, May 28, 2023.

You can use any type of art you want - paint, pencil, markers, collage, digital art, or anything else that inspires you. You can create a drawing, painting, sculpture, or even a comic strip! Let your imagination run wild and create something that shows Brantford how Public Works connects us all together!

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Draw a picture of a road crew working to fix potholes or improve a sidewalk
  • Create a painting of a beautiful park garden that was planted by public works
  • Make a sculpture of one of our bridges
  • Draw a comic strip about a PW superhero, saving the day by fixing broken watermains or clearing snow from the streets
  • Create a digital art piece that showcases the different types of public works structures like bridges and roadways that connect to places like the water treatment plants or our airport

The winner of this contest will receive a unique experience with their family, but more importantly, they will have the opportunity to showcase their artwork for everyone to see! So let's get creative about how Public Works connects us all together!
