Consultation has concluded

The City of Brantford is considering potential changes to the Noise Control By-law.

Currently, sound from stereos or speakers are prohibited from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. The proposed amendment to the noise by-law would be the prohibition of the noise or sound from stereos or speakers at any time, if the noise unreasonably disturbs the peace and interferes with another person’s enjoyment of their home.

This does not mean you would not be able to play a radio outside, it means that the sound cannot unreasonably disturb another person’s enjoyment of their home.

Please help us inform Council’s discussion on this subject by taking our quick survey to tell us what you think. The survey will be open until May 26, 2021 at 4:30 p.m.

To submit a noise complaint or ask a question about the current by-law, please call 519-759-4150 to speak to the Customer Contact Centre.
