The City of Brantford is committed to keeping our streets and sidewalks safe for the travelling public. At the same time, we support businesses who wish to promote their services using methods of advertising in public areas that do not pose a safety risk.
The City’s Outdoor Sign Bylaw, Chapter 478 of the Brantford Municipal Code, regulates the location of all portable signs (the signs you see outside of businesses with the interchangeable letters as well as small sandwich board signs on sidewalks) within the City of Brantford and currently, a permit is required prior to the installation of portable signs. The permits are currently restricted for 180 days per calendar year.
The City is currently considering making changes to the bylaw that regulates portable signs and would greatly appreciate your input. Please complete the survey below to help inform updates to the City's Outdoor Sign Bylaw regarding portable signs.
