Green Bin to Win Contest
The Green Bin to Win contest has concluded.
We’re celebrating the launch of the new green bin program with Brantford’s Green Bin to Win contest! It’s easy – just show us the positive impact residents like you are making on our environment by properly using your green bins for organic waste. Each week, a new task will be announced and residents can easily participate for a chance to win one of four weekly prizes of a $100 City of Brantford Recreation gift card. All entires throughout the month will be entered to win a grand prize of a $500 City of Brantford recreation gift card!
Participating is easy. Follow this project to receive updates to this project page and be notified each week when a new task has launched. Complete the task and enter for a chance to win.
Task 1 (November 1 to 7, 2023) – Send in a photo of your kitchen catcher set-up in your home with household kitchen organic material in it. Task 1 of the Green Bin to Win contest has concluded. Thanks for everyone who participated!
Task 2 (November 8 to 14, 2023) – Send in a photo of your green bin set out for collection with organic material in it AND tell us what time your green bin should be set out on the curb on collection day. Task 2 of the Green Bin to Win contest has concluded. Thanks for everyone who participated!
Task 3 (November 15 to 21, 2023) – Tell us one thing you've been surprised to learn can go into the green bin. Task 3 of the Green Bin to Win contest has concluded. Thanks for everyone who participated!
Task 4 (November 22 to 28, 2023) – Which communication tool or resource has been the most helpful in helping you navigate the Green Bin? Some examples include Brantford.ca/Greenbin, social media messages, recycle coach app, green bin videos, newspaper articles etc. Task 4 of the Green Bin to Win contest has concluded. Thanks for everyone who participated!
Eligibility requirements: This contest is open to all legal residents of the City of Brantford who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. You are not eligible to enter if you are an elected official or employee of the Corporation of the City of Brantford. Winners will be randomly selected from qualified entries.

I had no idea what could/couldn’t go in the bins. We have the pamphlet tacked on our bulletin board and use it all the time (less and less as time goes on 🙂)

Reducing our impact on the environment one day at a time!
This week we did great on reducing waste. So much so that we only put out our green bin. We didn’t produce enough garbage or recycling to fill those bins so we’re skipping that this week. Waste is due out by 7am on collection day.
