Thank you to everyone who provided input through the online or telephone survey for to help inform the City’s first multi-year capital and operating budgets.

An analysis of the multi-year budget priorities survey compared data received from respondents who participated in the 2021 and 2022 budget engagement campaigns to identify trends to inform multi-year budget decisions. Findings of the engagement campaign were shared with the Estimates Committee on January 15, 2024.

Consistent with the Strong Mayor Powers and Duties as directed by the Province of Ontario, on February 1, 2024, Mayor Kevin Davis released his 2024/2027 Multi-year Budget. The budget is available for public review at www.Brantford.ca/CityBudget. The Mayor’s budget considers public input collected during community consultation, as well as feedback heard from members of Council during four meetings of the Estimates Committee in January. The most recent budget draft includes further reductions, with a goal of maintaining the programs and services that Brantford residents and businesses rely on.

A Special City Council meeting has been scheduled for February 20, 2024 to finalize the 2024-2027 multi-year budget, whereby members of Council will have the opportunity to make amendments to the Mayor’s budget. Members of the public can also delegate at this meeting to share their input. For more information, residents are encouraged to visit brantford.ca/CityBudget.
