The City of Brantford is updating their Age-Friendly Strategy. In partnership with the Grand River Council on Aging, the City is looking for residents to share their feedback using the tools below and to attend one of the Age-Friendly Community Consultation Sessions being offered online or by phone.

Age-Friendly Community Consultation Sessions:

  • Thursday, September 16 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Monday, September 20 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, September 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

To register for one of the sessions, please call 519-759-4150.

To help inform future age-friendly planning, please share your feedback and ideas on the following topics below:

  • How would you like to receive information about community programs and services? Share your thoughts here.
  • How would you like to see services and programs be delivered in our community moving forward? Share your thoughts here.
  • What priorities do you identify as being important and would contribute to the development of a more Age-Friendly community? Share your input here and share your ideas and see what others are saying here.

Prioritizing seniors' health and wellness is a key component of the City's Healthy Aging Plan and Elder Abuse Prevention Strategy. Citizens are living longer, healthier lives and as a result, age-friendly programming aims to ensure people of all ages and abilities have opportunities to thrive.

    At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic many programs and services were offered virtually. Providing programs and services online has made it easier for some individuals to access and participate, but this can also be a barrier for those who don’t have access to technology.

    How would you like to see services and programs be delivered in our community moving forward?

    • Outdoor Spaces and Buildings, 
    • Transportation, 
    • Housing, 
    • Social Participation, 
    • Respect and Social Inclusion, 
    • Civic Participation and Employment, 
    • Communication and Information, and;
    • Community and Health Services.
